Peer Mentoring Circles
Women in Product Peer Mentoring Circles allow our WIP community to form closer connections for professional development. WIP manages the sign up and matching for the Peer Mentoring Circles. We encourage local, in-person meet-ups, so geography is a major factor in circle assignments.
Each Circle self-manages. Participation is free and voluntary. We recommend that circles stay together for at least 6 months. Circles typically include 10 participants who are at different levels of experience (early/mid/senior). Everyone is both a mentor and mentee in peer circles.
Unfortunately, WIP does not have budget to fund travel or provide meeting resources for the circles. However, we welcome corporate sponsors who may be able to host local meet ups.
How do I participate?
- Sign up by completing the survey used for circle assignment (currently there is a wait list; once we have enough people we will form a new set of circles)
- Attend as many meet ups as possible
- Agree on how your circle will operate
- How often & where to meet
- Privacy and confidentiality agreements
- Topics to discuss
Where are circles located?
We have circles around the US and some internationally. The majority are in the SF Bay Area. The main determinant is how many WIP sign ups we receive in each region.
What does "peer mentoring" mean?
The circles are designed to encourage everyone to both learn and coach. Where possible, the circles have a mix of experience levels. However, most of the sign ups are early to mid-carer PMs, or aspiring PMs, which will be reflected in the circle assignments.
